Why We Need Your Help
Our financial picture is a simple one:
- Our Sisters were paid very little for their services in the past and most continue to earn below market value. Our Sisters’ current earnings cover only 37% of our expenses.
- A Retirement Fund was begun in 1971. Income from the fund is already needed to cover current health and living expenses of our retired Sisters.
- All efforts are being made to keep expenses low including applying for government programs for all retired Sisters who are eligible.
- Our land, our most valuable asset, will increase in value over time and will be needed to provide for the needs of our Sisters when there are few wage earners.
Every attempt is being made to sell the current Motherhouse to generate income toward the cost of the new building. To limit costs, we built on our own land. The location was chosen because electricity, water, sewer and road access are more available.
How You Can Help
We turn to you, our friends and benefactors, to be a major source of the funds needed for our new Motherhouse. You have supported our mission and you have been a constant part of our life. You, our friends, have blessed us for the past 125 years. We come to you now, as we haven’t since we built the 1959 addition, and we ask for your help.
You can help us by:
Making a Personal Gift or Pledge
- Your personal gift can be a one-time gift or a gift that you pledge over a period of years.
- Your gift can be made in memory of or in honor of a Sister who has been a special part of your life.
- Your gift can be made in the name of your family who has been served by the Sisters.
- Your gift can be made in memory of a loved one who enjoyed the presence and support of the Sisters.
Thank you for considering our need. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
